Distinguishing Factors: Light and Snow in the Darkness of Slush

Business Finland aimed to attract foreign start-ups to Finland by creating a functional and innovative booth that promotes the Finland brand. The challenge was to meet Slush's visual guidelines and the theme "Builders and Makers," which restricted the use of bright lights and light-colored surfaces.

Embracing technology, Business Finland designed a two-story booth with a Grid theme. A glowing white light strip illuminated the booth in the darkness, while a large display on the second floor showcased Finnish expertise and partner capabilities, attracting visitors.

To provide an authentic Finnish winter experience, Business Finland offered a mini snowman workshop, which became the highlight of the booth. Images of mini snowmen made from real snow went viral on social media, reinforcing Finland's unique appeal.

Result/Impact

- Booth design praised by Slush organizers for skillful interpretation of graphic guidelines. - Increased visitor numbers attributed to the booth's attractive design.
